A Finnish designer has created a relaxing, Scandinavian apartment for herself and her family, using the spacious surroundings to let in plenty of natural light.
Joanna Laajisto’s design is predominantly white, which is chic and modern, but also provides an airy freshness when combined with the other interior elements.
Reflecting the light, select chairs and cabinets add extra depth to the white walls and help to convey a sense of simplicity.
Accents of black, green, and brown provide a beautiful sense of nature, with flowers and pot plants adorned around the space, complementing the colour scheme.
Black additions to furniture and the stunning PH Light add definition to the space, while the wire mesh dining chairs give a nice hint of industrial chic to contrast with the more natural elements of the design.
Occasional wall art is simply framed (if at all), hinting at Laajisto’s profession - after all, this is a design-led house.
With metallic and natural elements, this interior design scheme is a fresh take on monochrome - a light, relaxing space that is contemporary yet welcoming.
