Batlab has created a striking apartment for a young couple in Budapest, by using a range of innovative features and some stunning artistic lighting.
The project, called Youth to Youth, is a twist on the bedroom loft concept and aims to reflect the two different, but complementary personalities in the relationship.
The overall design is very sleek, with a monochrome minimalism seen in many high-end apartments, although the pearl-like beanbags add a surprising touch of luxurious softness to the scheme.
But the apartment’s uniqueness lies in its innovative arrangement. On entering the lounge area, two parallel staircases invite the owners to ascend to the bedroom, which sits directly above the doorway to the lounge and is completely open.
The exposed nature of this scheme reveals a beautiful geometry that the designers have exploited with the opposing staircases which meet at the bedroom, creating an irregular zigzag that is highlighted by a stunning continuous light.
The light frames the scheme beautifully and looks particularly dramatic at night-time, adding a bright yet slightly futuristic feel to the overall design.
