A writer’s apartment in Barcelona has been given a simple, modern take on the rustic farmhouse, offering a relaxing space with plenty of warmth and character.
The apartment, which was designed by Sergi Pons Architects, has a timeless feel with classic furniture and carefully selected art pieces making it a more personal living space.
The exposed walls and ceilings are more than just another design feature in a modern home - here they add depth and unify the apartment’s traditional theme, while the yellow-hued lighting fixtures highlight the richness of the textures.
This exposure also showcases the stunning high ceilings, which provide their own interest with an arched effect undulating between the beams.
These earthy colours are complemented by the furniture, which offers natural greens, reds, and yellows for subtle accents that bring the design to life. The furniture is kept simple and just slightly more than minimal,
with a wonderful near-symmetry that accentuates the design’s beautifully clean lines.
Another key feature of this interior scheme is the variety of tiles throughout; some are bold shades, bursting blocks of colour through a room, while others have a distinctly Mediterranean flavour that builds on the traditional atmosphere of the apartment.
