The Andaz Maui resort in Hawaii uses its stunning views to great effect with a luxurious geometric design.
The resort, which was designed by Rockwell Group, overlooks Mokapu Beach, providing guests with some dream vistas.
The colour palette is plush but understated, with warm browns and greys the order of the day, so as to not detract from the beautiful surroundings.
The use of wood (alongside Italian limestone] in such a high-end interior is clever, giving the overall design a slightly homely, rustic atmosphere to put visitors at ease. Carefully arranged bursts of colour also accentuate the dominant palette accents.
However, the most interesting aspect of this design is the use of geometry and symmetry. The abundant space and high ceilings are emphasised by the repetition of long wooden beams throughout the rooms and walkways, lending the resort a sense of grand tranquillity.
Custom furniture and contemporary Hawaiian artwork complete the resort, giving it extra character, and you can see it here in more detail.
