As we covered in a previous post, bathrooms are a fantastic way to introduce a touch of luxury and opulence into any home interior scheme, so you can unwind in beautiful surroundings. One bathroom trend to watch is Moroccan-inspired, which is incredibly versatile and visually striking. Bold and earthy colours are perfect for this kind of design, and geometric patterns can be used from floor to ceiling.
Here are two of Decoist’s great examples of Moroccan-style bathrooms:
This bright blue scheme by Chris Barrett Design is a stunning mix of patterns, from the wall tiles to the rug, and the wooden four-poster bath unit gives off a funky mediaeval luxury vibe.
The cream ceiling and upper walls give the bathroom enough light and air to ensure it remains a very open space with room to breathe.
Utopia Lifestyle’s design uses a range of textures for a lovely sleek feel - metallics work well with the green walls, which have a gorgeous natural effect to them, and the candles. Shape is another important factor of this design, and the clean lines of the arched doorframe and the mirror help to really define what would be an otherwise soft look.
Decoist also recommends a fusion of styles, giving traditional Moroccan design a modern twist, whether that’s just adding overtones of Moroccan culture to a scheme or transforming the room’s architecture.
